A woman can be anything, but unfortunately inequality between women and men is still very common in the world. Three out of four women in the world are illiterate. Only one in five parliamentarians of the world are women. Approximately 70% of the world’s women are poor. And only 1% of the world’s property owners are women. But what would this world be without women? (Reference: http://www.ykliitto.fi/yk70v/yk/ihmisoikeudet/naisten-oikeudet)
40 works of art have been selected for Women’s world - online exhibition, showing women and their everyday life across the world. In the artworks you can see women in different positions, roles and places through the eyes of children. The artworks are assembled from Art Centre for Children and Young People’s international art collection, which has already received new collected pieces through international exhibitions across five different decades.
Women’s world - online exhibition has been assembled by producer-intern Aurora Salomaa from Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences in spring 2016.
The exhibition includes some works with violence.
